General Data Protection Regulation?
Under the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), coming into effect on 25th May 2018, we are obliged to obtain and be able to prove ‘freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous’ consent in order to collect and process personal data. We’re taking action towards compliance, and we believe that the GDPR is an opportunity for us to send better, more relevant communications to our guests.
WHAT DATA IS COLLECTED BY THE Lansdowne Hotel?
Your first name, last name and e-mail address will be collected for our on-going e-mail marketing strategy.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS DATA COLLECTION?
As a loyal client/customer/guest of The Lansdowne Hotel we would like you to know about upcoming relevant news in recruitment, our corporate social responsibility strategy, fundraising, sponsorship, hotel deals, corporate events, special events such as BBQ/Live Music for sports and entertainments events at venues such as Aviva and The RDS, in-house entertainment such as Traditional Irish music and dance, and any food/drinks launch and promotions.
HOW IS YOUR DATA PROCESSED?
The Lansdowne Hotel occasionally uses the on-line e-mail marketing system Mail-Chimp that operates from the US. We also use MyPlace Wi-Fi Cram Service, both organisations are compliant with recent GDPR activities.
HOW LONG WILL YOUR DATA BE STORED BY THE GROUP?
In accordance with GDPR we will re-confirm all data every 2 years. Until this time your personal data will only be kept as a confirmation of your consent and stored on Mail-Chimp and MyPlace Wi-Fi Cram servers, which can only be accessed by our nominated data controller. You may opt out from any e-mail marketing by using the un-subscribe links at the bottom of the marketing e-mails at any time.

The Lansdowne Hotel will strive to ensure that your personal data is used in accordance with our GDPR Policy set-out here, if at any-time you have any concerns or issues in relation to how The Lansdowne Hotel stores or uses your personal data please e-mail or call us at the earliest opportunity and your concerns will be brought to the attention of our nominated Data Controller. Please note that as we are a Hotel business operating 24/7 our nominated Data Controller may not be on shift when you contact us, however, your concerns/query will be addressed at the earliest opportunity and we may contact The Office of The Data Protection Commissioner to clarify any matter arising.
