Aviva (ex Lansdowne Road) stadium
The Aviva (Lansdowne Road) is Ireland's national stadium, it plays host to both soccer and rugby international matches, as well as other varied events. The stadium is renowned for its intimidating "Lansdowne Roar" as home supporters are very vocal and the stands are in very close proximity to the pitch. The stadium is just a few minutes stroll from the hotel.
The Royal Dublin Society was founded in 1731 to promote the development of agriculture, arts, science and industry in Ireland. Having moved to Ballsbridge in 1879, the 40 acre site includes 10 multi-purpose exhibition halls, the RDS stadium, meeting rooms, bars, restaurants and over 2,000 car parking spaces. The RDS is synonymous with the annual Royal Dublin Horse Show.
